The SELMY Goldfish Maki-e Fountain Pen is an individually handcrafted writing instrument created using traditional natural raw lacquer and Maki-e craftsmanship. Built on a substantial No.30 ebonite body, the pen features an intricately decorated Goldfish motif, with vivid red and golden fish, delicate aquatic details, and carefully applied lacquer work that gives the surface exceptional depth and character.

Each pen requires approximately 4–6 months to complete, as the natural lacquer is applied, cured, decorated, and finished through multiple stages, with considerable time required between each process. The pen is further distinguished by its lacquered Bock feed with Medium nib, extending the handcrafted lacquer treatment to a functional component of the writing system.
